Employment Law Part II
Russell Zinn, Senior Partner, Ogilvy Renault LLP - Nepean Sailing Club

Archived Presentation

Progressive contact centers today face exciting challenges in creating high performance work environments.  This can be very rewarding; however, one of the toughest parts of managing in this environment involves the work you have to do to manage poor performance.  Join us for an interactive session on the five things you can do to reduce claims at the back-end of the employment relationship.

•  Correctly define and describe the job
•  Do employee background checks

•  Deal with employee problems

•  Use employment contracts or hiring letters that include termination provisions
•  Create a workplace environment that respects human rights

Our presenter is Russell Zinn, who has extensive experience in employment and human rights law, having practiced exclusively in this area for more than 25 years.  A Senior Partner with Ogilvy Renault LLP, Russell appears regularly before the Ontario Superior Court and Court of Appeal, as well as the specialized provincial employment tribunals and commissions.  He is a frequently invited speaker and has written extensively on employment topics, including his book ‘The Law of Human Rights in Canada’.

Ogilvy Renault is a full-service business law firm with close to 450 lawyers, patent and trademark agents practising in the areas of business, litigation, intellectual property, and employment and labour.  The firm has offices in Montréal, Ottawa, Québec, Toronto and London (UK), and serves some of the most successful corporations in Canada and in more than 120 countries worldwide.  The firm was recently named Best Law Firm in Canada by The International Law Office.
